No, it’s not a fever dream – it’s this weekend in Glasgow and Lanarkshire! From curious kids to nostalgic grown-ups, there’s something for everyone in this jam-packed edition.

🧬 Biggar Science Festival

It’s full STEAM ahead in Biggar this week, and the grand finale on STEMtastic Saturday is where the real magic happens! You’ll find drop-in science zones, Lego robotics, a planetarium show, science-themed Bookbug sessions, and the spectacular Magichem Show that blends illusion and explosions (safely!). Plus, don’t miss the tour of Scotland’s only preserved gasworks and a brain-teasing Science Trail around town with prizes up for grabs.

🐶 Dog and Duck Day

You’ve herd right — it’s back! Watch as clever collies round up a team of plucky ducks in the Drakes of Hazard obstacle course, with plenty of chances for wee ones to join in. Inside the museum, get stuck into crafts and gather round for some animal-themed storytelling. Also on show: Mordor Gundogs, who’ll wow you with obedience and cuteness, courtesy of their tiny puppy trainees!

🚗 Lanark Car Show

Time to get your motor running! This free, family-friendly car fest features stunning vehicles from the 1930s all the way to today — all parked up in Lanark Town Centre for your viewing pleasure. You’ll find everything from classic cruisers to modern marvels, and the whole town comes alive with shops, cafés, and welcoming vibes. It’s a total joyride (minus the petrol bill).

🛠️ Model & Hobby Show

Planes, trains, tanks and… a giant model ferry? This nostalgic celebration of hobbies returns to Mackinnon Mills with hands-on exhibits for both kids and grown-ups. 🌾 Bothwell Scarecrow Festival

Still going strong after 13 straw-stuffed years, this scarecrow spectacular is the ultimate community celebration. Expect live music, fairground rides, craft stalls, food, inflatables, and of course — the legendary scarecrows themselves! Highlights this weekend include the Family Outdoor Fun Days, Super Scarecrow Street, and the big Grand Parade. Go on – build your own and join the fun!

🎉 Forge Market 30th Birthday Bash

The East End’s beloved Forge Market is hitting the big 3-0 — and they’re throwing a birthday bash you won’t want to miss! 🎮 Family Wii Sports Party
